As part of the PDDC’s mission to provide educational information on plant diseases and their control, PDDC Director, Brian Hudelson, participates in a number of outreach activities throughout the year:

Brian appears regularly on Larry Meiller’s Garden Talk on Wisconsin Public Radio.

Television
Brian also appears regularly on Shelley Ryan’s show The Wisconsin Gardener on Wisconsin Public Television.

Brian attends a number of agriculture- and horticulture-related events throughout the year, including Wisconsin Farm Technology Days, UW-Madison Day at the Wisconsin State Fair, and Garden Expo.  During these events, you can meet Brian and ask him plant pathology-related questions.  You can find a listing of these events on our Events page.

Brian provides numerous lectures and workshops throughout Wisconsin on plant pathology-related topics, oftentimes with the sponsorship of local UW-Extension agents and educators.  Check with your local county UW-Extension office to see when Brian might be in your area.

Brian answers questions on UW Extension’s PlantDOC: Diagnoses, Observations, and Comments website.  Members of the general public can follow the discussion of cases posted at this site.

Brian writes articles for various print publications.  He regularly contributes information on samples submitted to the PDDC to the Wisconsin Horticulture Update, Wisconsin Urban Forestry Insider, Wisconsin Crop Manager, and Wisconsin Ornamentals Newsletter.  He also has contributed articles to the N.E.W Horticulture Newsletter, Woodland Management, Wisconsin Master Garden Program website, and National Plant Diagnostics Network (NPDN) News.
